Taper madness

I think that many people (well, women anyway), have found that taper madness = excessive shopping. I haven't actually bought anything, but I've spent a lot of money on a very expensive haircut + eyebrow shape, and a massage. Well, the massage was okay...it was badly needed and is mostly covered by my health insurance. Still, I feel like I've forked out a lot of money. My legs feel nice and loose after the massage, and I feel like running...no, no, must resist!

I'm in Halifax now, and it is beautiful...I might have to consider doing the Blue Nose marathon someday. I did 2 laps around the Citadel this morning plus a bit extra...4.5 km to keep myself sharp, but not tired. I should rest tomorrow and Friday, then maybe a 2-3 km jog on Saturday to get the pre-race jitters out.

I haven't been feeling great. I keep waiting for a cold to emerge, but it hasn't yet. I just hope that it doesn't emerge before Sunday. I'll have to assess my condition on race day and adjust my time expectations accordingly.

Wow... How did you get massages covered by insurance? That is so great!
