I ran the 5k of the Wolfe Island Classic yesterday. Briefly, I forgot to wear my Garmin and had to run by feel. And so I did...felt like crap the whole way, just like one is supposed to during a 5k race ;). End result: 25:52, 6/40 in AG, 16/137 women. A new PB!
Wolfe Island is a hard course. I don't enjoy the hills. I just go to see the golden retriever kennel at the finish line. My furbaby liked visiting with them too!
I am a regular woman who took up running in an attempt to lose weight. That was in the summer of 2004. In the beginning, I found it difficult to run continuously for 10 minutes. I ran my first half marathon in June 2005, and my first full marathon in May 2006. I lost about 25 lbs over time. Now, with a bit of running experience under my belt, I am trying to learn how to be a better runner and improve my finishing times.
Races completed: 2 full marathons, 1 3ok, 8 half marathons, 10 10k, 4 5k, 1 give-it-a-tri, 1 super sprint duathlon and a few others of various distances.
