It's easier to run faster?

Today was feeling like a blah day. I dragged myself to the gym after work and shuffled away on the treadmill at my usual warm-up pace. I decided I was going to do 5 km today. I grudgingly incresed the speed, and as my body fell into form and got used to the motion, running became easier. I continued to increase the speed and finished at 6.2 mph (10km/h), which is my approximate 10 km race pace (I think). By the time I had reached that point, it felt easy...much easier than when I started out at 5 mph. So, is it easier to run 6.2 mph than 5.0 mph? Hehe. Maybe this is a sign that I should be pushing my tempo runs a little harder.

My knee felt okay today. Still touchy, but no pain.

I usually run 6mph on most of the treadmills i've been on - feels very comfortable to me. Then again, I'm taller and take longer strides...
