Looking back on 2005

2005 was a great year. I feel extremely blessed to be in excellent health, to have a steady job that I enjoy (most of the time), to have met new wonderful friends and have kept in close contact with old ones, to have a wonderful, loving family, and to have found a wonderful, supportive partner (thanks again, lavalife!).

As for my running:
2 10km races (PR: 1:00:57)
2 half marathons (PR: 2:12:56)
1 charity run, > $100 raised (Terry Fox)
1 charity event not run, but > $150 raised (Run for the Cure)
Total mileage for the year: 1231.57 km
Total weight lost: 10 lbs
(how could I have only lost 10 lbs after running 1231.57km??)

The distance from Vancouver to Edmonton is 1160 km, according to Google maps. The distance from Toronto to Nashville, Tennesee is 1255 km. So, in 2005 I ran from Toronto to Nashville. Cool. So, let's set some goals for 2006.

Goals for 2006:
Run 2006 km (almost the distance from Toronto to Winnipeg, where Tony is from :) )
Complete a marathon (42.2 km)
Set a personal record for 10 km (currently 1:00:57)
Get Tony to complete a 10 km race
Encourage as many acquaintances as possible to start running or exercising regularly

That's all that I can think of for now. Happy new year everyone. Stay healthy and happy!
