The dreaded Wednesday runs

I worry that I am getting bored with running. My training runs are feeling like a chore, and I don't look forward to them. Once I've finished a run, I feel good...it's just hard to get started. Perhaps I need to do a race to break up the monotony...Chilly half marathon is coming up in three weeks.

Today I did my dreaded mid-week semi-long run. I find it hard to do these runs after work, and getting up at 4:30am to complete the run before work is not appealing (5:00am I don't mind...4:30 is too much). We went for pork bone soup for lunch today, and the heaviness was still in my stomach when I began my run (incidently, I didn't need to eat a Clif bar today). I still managed to complete the 10k in 1:08...an improvement from 1:10 last week and 1:13 two weeks ago.

Blah, feeling pretty blah. Somebody give me motivation please...

Every km u put in now will return 1000 folds on race day..

I use that to remind myself why I need to go out there sometimes.

Are you doing the run outside or inside? I find that I really look forward to my runs when I'm running with a friend or with my mp3 player... I've heard of people that listen to books on tape; that could be fun, too.

I'm also training for a marathon...I ran with a friend yesterday, and it was amazing how fast 1.5 hours could pass. :)

Good luck with the half-marathon, too. I'm doing one on the 19th.

I can't run with an mp3 player...I'm too paranoid about cars, dogs and human hazards out there :P So, all I have are the voices in my head...
