I slept in today for the first time in awhile. Woke up at 10:30 and headed out for my run. I was planning to do an easy 10k. The weather was perfect...sunny and breezy, about 18deg. I really enjoyed it. I did 10.25km in 1:15. Nice and relaxed pace, although my average HR was 166. What's up with that?? I didn't feel like I was working hard at all. Maybe I was just having an off day. Or maybe my heart just works harder than most people...I ran non-stop today, I felt like I could have maintained that pace for at least another 30 min. It might be interesting to get some tests done someday...lactate threshold, VO2 max, etc. I have a feeling that I am probably quite limited performance-wise. But today, it didn't matter. Today, I just enjoyed running.
Walked up the stairs again when I got home and played tennis this afternoon. I think I deserved the bowl of ice cream that I just ate ;)
