Medals medals medals

Want to attract more runners to register for your race? Offer a finisher's medal. Even better, offer a cool finisher's medal. While it may not be the biggest selling point of a race, for some, seeing a cool medal on display at a race expo booth might give them that extra little push to register. Medals were a huge thing for me when I first started racing, but now, I am ashamed to say that I found my medals lying in a pile in my basement. Let's take a look at them, shall we?

10k medals (clockwise from top): HBC run for Canada 2006, MDS Nordion 10k 2007 (Ottawa marathon), Reindeer 10k 2007 (Angus Glen half), Remington 10k 2005 (Mississauga marathon), Sporting Life 10k 2007

Half marathon medals: Chilly half marathon (2006 and 2007), Las Vegas Half 2007, Toronto half 2005, Forest City half 2007 (my favourite), Scotiabank Vancouver half 2005, Scotiabank Toronto Waterfront half 2007, Toronto half 2006

Around the Bay relay and 30k medals. The medals don't change, but the runners keep coming back for more!

Marathon medals: Vancouver 2008 and Mississauga 2006 (looks suspiciously like my 10k medal from the year before!)

I should really figure out a good way to display them rather than leaving them in a pile. Perhaps Random Project Man can help me ;)

Which one do you like the best?

Holy medals! I can only dream of having so many... soon enough, I suppose. For now, you put my collection of TWO to shame! lol

Congratulations Anners, what an amazing collection. I just may copy this post for a little motivation of my own. I like the Vancouver medal, because I am so jealous that you ran that ran and I would love to add it my collection.
