Heat wave

Smog alert, heat advisory and high humidity are conditions that would make anyone unhappy, but they are brutal for those who participate in outdoor sports. The heat this week has had a very negative impact on my energy level, motivation, and quality of my workouts. My car does not have air conditioning, so by the time I get home from work I feel exhausted from the heat. I don't feel like cooking or eating, much less exercising. I suppose the solution should be to get up early and do my workout before work, but the heat exhaustion seems to carry over and makes it difficult for me to get up early. Even running on the treadmill seems like a chore. I hate making excuses, but it's really tough to get out there sometimes!

I felt the same way this past week.... It's just so hard to kick yourself out the door when you know you'Re going to struggle on the workout!

Hang in there summer is 'almost' over lol

I hear ya!! I think everyone's having a tough week. I was considering running a 5K race this week in Burlington, but with the humidity its supposed to be 37 degrees. So much for that... Grrr...

I know what u mean. It's constantly hot and humit here in Singapore though, and I can think of a few good things about hot and humid weather:

1. Humidity is uncomfortable but a lot better for the complexion than dry heat (or cold).

2. When the heat wave is over, you KNOW you will be faster.

BTW, all the cars come with air conditioning in Singapore. It is not even an option anymore. =)
